A bi-monthly meeting where an eminent fellow of the society gives an address. Fellows who spoke in 2006 included Lord Gawain Douglas on his Great Uncle Bosie, Philip Hoare on The Pemberton Billing Trial and the Cult of The Clitoris, Robert Irwin on The Arabian Nights, Hugo Vickers on The Baron de Rede, Christian Jankowski on The Frankenstein Set and Max Egremont on Siegfried Sassoon. The talks have been accompanied by a nine course dinner at the Café Royal, a lavish tea on a specially laid lawn at 43 South Molton and a dinner taken from The Alice B.Toklas Cookbook at The Whitechapel. At present the talks take place at The Tabernacle on Powis Square in Notting Hill Gate. Please refer to the home page for more information on current lectures.
