The Viktor Wynd Museum is Especially Proud To Announce The Opening of an Exhibition Many Years in The Dreaming, bringing together the Artistic Work of three of the twentieth century’s greatest writers.
Alasdair Gray – author of the groundbreaking Lanark & ‘the most important Scottish writer since Sir Walter Scott’ (Anthony Burgess)
& the subject of a recent retrospective at Kelvingrove
Mervyn Peake – author of Gormenghast
Gunter Grass – Nobel prize winning author of The Tin Drum – inspiration behind The Last Tuesday Society’s now legendary ‘Loss; an Evening of Exquisite Misery’
When Mr.Wynd discussed the idea for this show with Alasdair Gray he was delighted to hear of the great artists longstanding fascination with the works of both the others – dating, in the case of Mervyn Peake, to the second world war and Captain Slaughterboard Drops Anchor. Alasdair Gray had planned to come to London for the opening and to give a lecture, following his recent tragic fall we would like to wish him a speedy recovery and hope that he will make it to London at some point during the show
