Top Hats and Tail coats with Spirit Bath House

Monday, May 9th

7pm - 9pm

Within the spiritual framework of New Orleans Voodoo are a family of Spirits known as Ghede, the great and powerful dead. These raucous clowns drink, smoke tell dirty jokes and bring a different view to the sombre side of death. Headed by the infamous Baron Samedi and his consort Maman Brijit each ghede has a role to play in the funeral. Thistle explores the nature of these Spirits, how they interact with people and what they have to teach us about death, dying and the dead. This night is filled with anecdotes, tales of the Bayou and stories of Voodoo in the graveyards and cemeteries of New Orleans
